Default Wire upgrade

I posted a while back about cutting some speaker wire and replacing the dental floss that comes with these systems. The cutting of the wire isnt going to good. I cant get enough copper exposed to plug into the terminals. With my receiver, no banana plugs needed, you just put the wire in, clamp it down and thats it. Is it possibe to use some kind of aftermarket wires with HTiB's, or should I just stick with the originals...im using one of the newer Onks...

Thx

Yep, I have a pair I got off Amazon. I cut the insulation to expose the copper coverd by a set of black, and red bands...over the top of the wire. Im assuming these are the positive and negative indicators...

Wait, what exactly are you having a problem with? Fitting the width of the new wire into the spring clip terminals?

Cutting the wire, I can get the insulation off ok, but the red and black strands are a mess...what part needs to go into the clamps?

No, the strands are surrounding the wire.

Cut the strands off so there is only wire ! Then connect it up & see if the speakers work . No reason they wouldn't .
