Dick Tracy? - Blu-ray Forum

me too, i loved Dick Tracy when i was a kid, and for some reason Flattop was such an awesome villian.

Didn't really like DICK TRACY very much. Warren Beatty was completely wrong for the part in my opinion.
Perhaps Bruce Willis would have made it much much better. He actually looked more like the comic strip character than Beatty did.
I read that they tried to make Warren Beatty look more like the comic strip Tracy, but the fake nose made him look like the wicked witch from THE WIZARD OF OZ.
Therefore , bad casting made for a fair movie for me. And makes DICK TRACY not on my list of must have blu-rays.

I'm 50/50 with the Dick Tracy movie. At the time it was great to watch, but I wonder if the replay value of it has diminish now that I'm older. I should probably rent it and see if it still holds up!

I agree with Chester, Bruce Willis would have been a great Dick.

Besides the video quality, are behind-the-scenes a given when a movie is released in Blu-ray? That's what I love!

I netflixed it earlier this year, it wasn't what I remember but probably would still pick it up.

As an aside, this movie always reminds me of the McDonald's promotion that was running when this was in theaters.
However, there's no question that Vittorio Storaro's cinematography and the production design would look amazing if given an excellent transfer. It would also be great if they could include some of the planned extras for the Vista Series dvd release that never saw the light of day. However, I'd settle for a basis release with great AQ & PQ.

Yes...this movie would look amazing on Blu-Ray if given the care it deserves. The coloring was amazing. I remember going to the midnight showing of Dick Tracy and our ticket was a t-shirt that we had to wear. Gotta love Pacino!
