Not at all! I'm glad you circled your speakers though....I couldn't find them!

nevermind what we think, what do your ears tell you? how does it sound and have you moved them from their current position, experimented at all? truthfully, none of us can tell you anything that would be meaningfull without our ears being there and guess what, the things we hear might not be the things you hear!

trust your ears, i've been told they do more than keep my hats from sliding down on our heads!

seriously, your there, so only you can answer this question, end of story!

best of luck.

Nope, you're good. My fronts are 12' apart and many others have them wider than that.

I agree with the other posters that you should be fine if it sounds good to you. My two mains are about 14' apart, which is about the same distance from each speaker to my main listening position.

An off-topic question: How do you like having the TV mounted above the fireplace? When folks ask about doing this (in advance) most point out that this is not recommended for several reasons including; 1) increases neck strain (TV should be at eye level when seated), 2) heat from fireplace issues, and 3) increased difficulty in proper speaker placements.

Seriously, though. Some say that your fronts should create a perfect triangle with your "sweet spot." If you sit 7 feet from your L/R speakers then they should be 7 feet apart from each other.

In the end it is all how it sounds to you. Some like toe-in, others like toe-oout, still there are others who like nothing and have them straight ahead. Who is right and who is wrong? It's all subjective anyway.

Enjoy your setup!

I thought this may of been an issue when i first had the tv mounted slightly higher than i wanted. To be honest none of the family have had ANY issues at all, got used to it straight away!. The fire underneath is not used anymore. The way my room is causes no issues with speaker placement, although i cant quite make up my mind on the fronts - hence the question.

I'm glad to see that you and your family have no problems with mounting your TV high off the floor. I know that the way most houses are designed today, many times you really do not have many other options.

As for the two speakers; I would make an equal sided triangle between the speakers and the main sitting position as mentioned earlier. As with the TV mountng, you may not have many choices without blocking access to items behind the speakers. Just do what sounds best to you, and passes your wife's AF (we all have to pass the WAF) and go with it!

I don't know how far back your seating position is, but your front channel spacing looks good. Too often, I see front sound stages that are collapsed, because the front speakers are hugging the sides of the TV.

Location, location, location. Speaker and screen placement are huge factors in audio and video performance.

biggest thing I would play with is the actual location of your main speakers. They seem to be in an awkward area as they are kind of blocking your movies and your A/V stand. It's hard to tell how the wall is shaped without a side shot, but maybe you would be able to shift things around so the speakers a little closer to the wall, and move some of the equipment so you don't need to step over speaker wire to make adjustments, or select a movie?
