It's released by companies other than Paramount in other countries.

ok thats why but how come all the other paramount titles is region free this can't be the 1st title they release that is distributed by other companies then paramount?

Paramount instituted a new policy with the release of Braveheart and Gladiator. These two titles were the first to be region A locked under the new policy.

If Paramount does not have worldwide rights then they will have use region coding.
