Man, a new Call of Duty every year would get old real fast. Not to mention quality starts to diminish when you release a game every year like that. Look at Madden!

Even though GameTrailers is a credible site, I don't see what their "source" knows that anyone else couldn't tell you.

If you're interested, here's some info on the next next Call of Duty game (as in, the one after the next one).

-it'll be called Modern Warfare 3
-it will take place in modern day
-it will have guns in it
-it will come out in November 2011

Well the difference is they have two teams, Treyarch and Infinity Ward.

So there's a new game every year, but two years between games made by the same team.

2007 - Infinity Ward
2008 - Treyarch
2009 - Infinity Ward
2010 - Treyarch
etc.

I think it'd help if Infinity Ward could disassociate itself with the Call of Duty name, and spin that off into it's own thing. I think they're trying, by often referring to the current game as Modern Warfare 2, rather than Call of Duty 6, but I'm sure Activision insists on keeping it within the Call of Duty franchise.

I think thats exactly what they need to do! Get rid of Call of Duty and just name it Modern Warfare!

Sounds like they're trying to make an MMO of sorts. Maybe...

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I'm gonna throw this out there:

I enjoyed the crap out of Modern Warfare 1. That was one of the best single player experiences ever (next to Portal) for how short it was. However, I REALLY miss Infinity Ward's work on COD1 and COD2. Those are classics... call me crazy, but I still play COD2 multiplayer more than MW.

I wish IW would jump back into the 'traditional' COD and give us something like Vietnam or Korean War (or heaven forbid WWII) with the polished graphics/storytelling they've been churning out in Modern Warfare.... Sorry to Treyarch, but World at War just didn't do it for me.

Just kinda sucks because IW is making money hand over fist on Modern Warfare, so I'm sure they'll stick in the present... I just wish they'd jump back into what started it all sometime.

I just cant stand driving vehicles ever since the demo of world at war where I went like 31-1 in that tank I said this isn't for me. Hopefully they have enough diversity in guns and attachments exc. for me to buy this.

I used to think a Civil War game would be fun, because the setting interests me, but then I realized how bad it'd be as an FPS. Horribly inaccurate guns, with terribly slow loading times. Maybe a killstreak would be a cannon strike, where some CPU teammates will roll out a cannon, and launch a ball wherever you want.

Nah, we want Modern Warfare, you know where we run around with dual shotguns and handgun knife attachments. We will settle for no less then realistic.

Dumb comment. Now, if you said that 99% of COD mutilplayer is full of campers, snipe*****s, noobtubers, and akibo *****s (dual shotguns), that would have made more sense.

Since Call of Duty is Infinity Ward's baby, I'd say kick Treyarch off the name.

I say this primarily because IW shouldn't be locked into "Modern Warfare", which they are if you keep that name.

You'll have to wait until November of 2011. Plus, Infinity Ward might not even make the game.
