I know "thriller" may be ambiguous, but I usually associate the word "thriller" with high-intensity movies. So in that regard, list what films come to mind that you love in each category.
1. Action thriller (e.g. A History of Violence, The Hurt Locker) 2. Psychological thriller (e.g. Fight Club, Memento) 3. Horror thriller (e.g. Psycho, Repulsion) 4. Drama thriller (e.g. The Lives of Others, Rear Window) If you can't fit a movie into only one category, choose one. ![]() |

FIGHT CLUB is #1 for me for obvious reasons (fav. film of all time) but some other thrillers that stand out at the moment would have to be...
(in no order) Zodiac Seven The Bourne Trilogy Michael Clayton Phone Booth Reservoir Dogs The Silence of the Lambs Inside Man The Negotiator |

I def agree that there are multiple sub-genres of "thrillers," but for the sake of brevity I'll just name the one pure thriller that I think exceeds all others:
Tell No One (French film based on Harlan Coben's excellent book, which I just finished reading) |

Yea I know the thriller category can be wide open and broad but some of these films dont qualify that are listed. For example I wouldnt qualify Leon or Inside Man as a thriller! Both great films but Inside Man is a crime/drama and Leon is a drama as well. But thats just me! Got Em!!

it is a masterpiece. its scarier than gore horror, without showing gore. i'll always be more afraid of things i imagine than things i see. remember the boogie man in the closet? i never saw him either...
