I was playing Tekken 6 for the last couple of weeks and it donned on me that I am seriously sick of fighting games that have you fight through all human opponents up until the final boss battle that turns out to be something unhuman. This is a trend that needs to die. I don't want to fight a giant Egyptian lizard or a Giant Machine with a girls name. If you want me to fight these you should put regular characters like this in earlier in the game or allow me to become a large animal beast as well. Do you have any other annoying gaming trends that need to die?

Ennemies that look like cr@p early on, mini bosses pretty much the same, then the design becomes more and more elaborate and better as you progress, and the ennemies more awesome.
Good design = -every- ennemy has a cool/ unique/ awesome design. Weak/ early on should not mean rushed and looking terrible (imo). |

But seriously, the decreasing importance of single-player mode really annoys me. Don't get me wrong, I really love to play online multiplayer matches, but it really seams that single player is something that just gets tacked on, and isn't the real game. Take MW2 for instance, it almost feels like the single player mode is just there as a training exercise for multiplayer. |

Control schemes that are clunky I mean by now the norm should be fluent character control followed by fluent aiming or what have you, but too often do I play a game that has potential (Bionic Commando, Silent Hill, Shaun White Snowboarding, I'd even say Demon's Souls (though I love the game)) but suffers from control issues that don't seem like it takes rocket science to fix. Bionic Commando is def the worst out of all games listed btw the control made trying to monkey around near impossible at parts and frustrated me to the point where I had to let it go.

Online gaming is great, but since online console gaming has boomed developers don't seem to feel the need to include anything for people who like to play games with a friend sitting next to them. Co-Op campaign modes should be utilized more as well as more split screen options, I loved it when you use to to able to do deathmatchs split screen with AI or bots. I cant remember the last game that had that option.

Mine, which is a wide open topic admittedly, is the endless Sequels.
And I'm going beyond Madden-like games. Do we really need a Mortal Kombat 9? How is that going to revolutionize the system? Modern Warfare 2 is what, the 8th Call of Duty game? How many times do I need to track down the Master Sword, the Boomerang, and the Slingshot in Zelda games? Why doesn't Mario just off Bowser and his kids already? Ironically, one of the big series this doesn't apply to is Final Fantasy because the mechanics and story change every iteration, so while they are numbered they are unique. |

Yes I would say stop putting online where it is not necessary. Both type is good, but stop always mixing them! RE5 is a good exemple and now Dead space will also have multiplayer...its ok if it is not compromising the single experience like Uncharted 2 did. Some people still love single player games.

1. Run and Gun shooters: No strategy, no real cover system, no teamwork. I like shooters, though I'm more of a 3rd person, cover system type guy. But could we get some more games that aren't the same as everything else?
2. Online only games for $60: Shouldn't they start out at say $40? And why not add some sort of co-op into it with a bit of a story line? I need more for $60. I just don't want to buy a game and shoot others online for $60, give us something more please. 3. When you purchase DLC for a game and it locks up, freezes and acts all out of whack (yes, I'm looking at you Fallout 3) 4. More Co-op in games. Not just a few side quests you can play over and over. Why can't I play the game the entire way through with a buddy or two? (Gears of War style) 5. Roster updates for MLB The Show. (like how the 2K series does it online) 6. Map packs and add-ons should be free. Why should I have to pay $15 dollars or so for a few extra maps? Shouldn't that cost already be bundled in the $60 I already spent? Now, if it's a HUGE map pack or something...that's cool. But to spend a decent amount of money on a couple of maps? No thanks. |

Nope! Impractical, unrealistic and antiquated tech that needs to be done away with. It was only cool with the N64 as a gimmick. Also annoys me that it was such a big deal with some gamers back when Sony originally decided not to support it.

Releasing buggy games and then relying on a downloadable patch to fix them later. Fix all known bugs and *then* release them.

You can turn it off. It might even give you some more battery life.
