I searched several pages and couldn't find a thread for this film, so I thought I'd start one. Sorry if there was one hidden somewhere that I didn't find.

Anyway, this will be my first Criterion (other than Benjamin Button.) Can't wait for it to be released, in my opinion, one of the best films of the year.

From Blu-ray.com: In Northern Irelandís Maze prison in 1981, twenty-seven-year-old Irish Republican Army member Bobby Sands went on a hunger strike to protest the British governmentís refusal to recognize him and his fellow IRA inmates as political prisoners, rather than as ordinary criminals. McQueen dramatizes prison existence and Sandsís final days in a way that is purely experiential, even abstract, a succession of images full of both beauty and horror.
