Default Need a new receiver, replacing Onkyo 606

Okay, so I'm currently the owner of an Onkyo 606 audio receiver which is having what I'm told is an HDMI handshake issue, a common fault with it. I'm pretty sure it has, on two out of three of my hdmi devices, the image has trouble connected at first.

What I'd like advice on, is should I get it repaired or will the same problem arise again? If so, I need tips on what new Receiver to purchase. Really I don't want to spend more than £300 on a receiver, if possible.

Idealy I'd like to get one with all the features of my onkyo, but preferably more reliable. My speaker setup is a monitor Audio Bronze setup in 5.1, with dual wired front speakers. I have three HDMI devices to plug into the receiver and I'l need one audio output for the HDMI to my Tv.

It would need at least one optical audio input too, as my Sky HD box can only carry 5.1 sound via optical cable. So it'l need the ability to carry the picture via hdmi and the audio for the device via optical, going into one input.

Please help, I really need to get this sorted asap. MY main concern is getting the right receiver for my speakers power requirements. It's been a while since I bought the technology, so does the receiver need to have a power output higher or lower than the speakers? Ohms or Watts?

These are the speakers I own .
