Default Sony STR-DG810 question

Is it possible to sen video via HDMI and component simultaneously?

I want to use the component for my projector and the HDMI for my LCD.

I read the manual, but no mention if this is possible or not.

I am hoping the component is active even when HDMI is connected.

Thanks!

I have a cable from monoprice arriving tomorrow, so I'll have an answer soon enough, but thought I would ask here as well.

Thanks!

I don't think so....I think once the HDMI is connected that has priority to everything else connected.

But I would say that you will need to play with this to find out... Honestly I don't know, but I don't think so....

Ok, so can get the image to the projector when I hook up the BDP or cable box directly to the projector.

I tried using the component out on the receiver, but no dice.

I tried hooking the BDP and cable box to the receiver via component but no dice (although I didn't unhook the HDMI connection for them either, maybe thats my problem?)

Is there a way to set output priority on this receiver? I read the manual ft to rear and I couldn't find anything.

Also, it is possible this receiver doesn't downconvert HDMI sources to analog component for output? If so, crap.

Any help or suggestions for different connection options would be great. Thanks.

the sony 8 series receivers don't do upconversion, that is for the 9 series (dn1000) and above. I think with mine I could bring it in as component and then out via hdmi, I would have to check that tho.... For you, you have to go in and out the same way, hdmi-hdmi, comp-comp, etc.
