Talking Best movie magazines?

I wanted to start a new subscription to a new magazine movie related. But didn't know what was good? Any suggestions? Just a magazine that talks about new releases, sequels, prequels, and everything in that nature. Thanks

If you're looking for just basic info about all sorts of stuff, Entertainment Weekly may be your best/cheapest bet. I think you can get a year's subscription for $10-15 (or about 20-30 cents per issue). Empire magazine is similar, but British.

If you want to avoid the populist stuff, there's Film Comment, but it's mostly for in-depth analysis/reviews; it's bi-monthly, and a bit pricier than EW (about $30/year, or $5 per issue).

If you want to feel like an insider, you can read one of the business-y offerings, like Variety (weekly) or The Hollywood Reporter (daily), but those cost quite a bit (about $200/year).

I used to have a subscription to Premiere before they stopped printing and went online only (not nearly as good as the magazine was). That was a few years back and nothing really seems to be as good as it was.

Of all of them now I suppose Entertainment Weekly would be your best bet.

entertainment weekly is great, i have had a sub. for 3-4 years now.

if you want a great magazine w/a lot of info, Empire from the UK is awesome!!!

expensive as all hell for a sub. though. i'd recommend going to barnes & noble and grabbing the current issue and checking it out.

Anyone remember Total Movie? It came with a DVD of like featurettes and trailers for upcoming movies. Didn't last long but it was kind of awesome.

I've been getting Australian 'Empire' mags since issue #2 back in like 2001. Bought issue #107 today. Monthly magazine. Best movie magazine I have ever purchased.
