Licensing costs... Warner, who distributes I Am Legend, keeps cost down for Digital Copy by not making them iTunes compatible.

Sony also wanted to push their PSP digital copies so very few Sony titles support iTunes.

And Sony was the one who built their technology around thinking that WMV PlaysForSure would crush the iPod--
Don't know if they're still thinking that, but their new DC's aren't in QuickTime format, and they're now gearing them to make them directly accessible to upload to PSP's from watching on the PS3.

As for Warner--another tantrum against the Apple Store.
When Amazon said, "Sell your movies with us, you can name your own prices!", without quite technically knowing how to do it, Warner was the first to mutiny against Apple, and now they can't quite figure out how to get out of their own web-Windows format, either.

It provides a list of which are compatible with iTunes, and which are not. The OP's copy in question is on the list that isn't compatible.

He's asking how to make them compatible. You gave him a link to a thread that lists all Digital Copies, which perhaps denotes which ones are compatible.

That's not helpful.

Neither is this exchange.

It didn't sound like the OP knew much about copies being compatible or not, so I figured a link contribution might help (to what extent is a different story), but nonetheless, what's done is done

Warner Brothers is particular strange since they keep going back & forth. I have some iTunes digital copies of WB movies, and unusable digital copies of others. It would at least make sense if they were like Sony and consistently didn't support it.

I'm wondering, though, with the iPad unveiling yesterday... if there will be more of a move towards digital copies on more movies for iTunes. That thing screams to be used to watch stuff on-the-road.
