When to/Should we expect earlier seasons for Smallville/24/CSI/NipTuck/Supernatural? - Blu-ray Forum

I have Smallville Season 6,7,8 on Blu-ray,Season 5 on HD-DVD, Season 1 on DVD. I have only seen the first a few episodes of season one. I want to wait till they are all available on High Def then start watching them. But it doesnt seem like studios are releasing earlier seasons on Bluray anytime soon

I have seen 24 seasons on DVD(sold them all in the anticipation that they were releasing them on Bluray) I want to rewatch them but in Blu-ray

I bought Nip/Tuck season four on Bluray. I have never seen any episodes from any season but I think it was a poor seller so no Bluray upgrade for earlier seasons anytime soon.

I ordered CSI season one on bluray. It should be here anytime soon but howlikely is season 2 and on releases in the next a few months?

Supernatural was a tv show that interested me but I refuse to buy DVDs (unless they are wicked cheap) and for me to start watching show they should release season one and two on bluray?

Maybe I missed a couple more tv shows with later seasons released on Bluray.

what are your thoughts?

it could be a while before we do.i love smallville and have season 1-4 on dvd and season 6 on blu. soon to be 8 on blu. but sadly i dont see the being released until the show is over.

I would guess with long running series like these, that they'll just wait til they've finished their run and then release a massive box set. Lost looks like the exception to the rule.

I too have Smallville S6-8 on blu, S5 on HD-DVD(though I sold my HD-DVD player), and S1-4 on DVD. I thought by now that S5 would show up on blu but not yet. The earlier seasons on Smallville are available at Amazon on demand in HD so at some point these will come out. Apparently there's no rush.

I've also heard that TV seasons don't do so well on blu since DVD versions are so cheap now.

well the Blu-Ray versions are so cheap as well. I bought season 6 and 7 for $14.99 each from Newburry comics(Also got Nip/Tuck season four for $9.99 from Newburry comics) I bought season 8(in steel case from Bestbuy) for $24.99.
