The Rules For the Blu-ray.com Movie Tournament!!!

Ok here is how I am gonna do the tournament. I am gonna use these 9 categories:


Bold = Poll Already Made

Horror/Thriller
Superhero/Comic
Sci-Fi
Adventure/Disaster
Fantasy/Animation
Romance/Musical
Action/Western
Comedy
Drama/War/Crime


I am gonna do a preliminary poll for each of the 9 genre's with about 40 films from each category. There will be multiple voting options and I will need all to vote for only 7 movies!! Pick the top 7 that u want to see make the tourney. The polls will be up for a couple of days so we can get the ball rolling. After all 9 polls are done that will give us 65 films (7 in each genre, 9 in drama/war/crime) for the tournament. The bottom 2 movies by seeding will have a play in game like the real march madness to finalize the field of 64! After the play in poll we will then have our 64 films and then we can begin the real tournament!


The seeding for the real tournament will be by number of votes recieved and placing in their category. We dont want to put all of one category in the same brackets as they will only eliminate each other and also its way more fun and interesting to have them go at each other in random fashion which will make voting more challenging but fun. Also in basing how u will vote for both the preliminary polls and the real tourney is up to u. I would votes based on a combination of how good the film is and how much u like the film as well. Its not necessarily a best of or favorite type of contest. Its pretty much on u and what movie or movies u feel at the time should get your vote and advance!


So shortly I will setup polls for the categories. remember make sure u only vote for 7 of the films in the poll and the 7 with the most votes (9 for drama/war/crime) automatically advance to the tournament. Before I start however I will wait for a few replys to see if anyone wants to give an input or so fourth. If not let the games begin!

I can think of a lot more war movies that deserve to be nominated than I can of Superhero or comic book movies. I'd suggest giving war it's own section and combing all fantasy subgenres together.

The thing is War goes with Drama more that Superhero comic goes with fantasy. It doesnt really matter though as again I will have like 30 or so films for each preliminary poll anyway so a lot of the war films will be on the poll. What does anyone else think. Should we do it how KP is askin as far as the genre's or is my listing ok? Either way Im cool with it. So in other words should it be:

or

If Czar's putting in the work, he can do it anyway he wants. I'm sure not all the films I'd want will be on the list, but who cares--films are bound to be left off. I will fully participate and appreciate his work.
