Default Downgrade to older firmware?

I recently purchased a Samsung BD-P1590, and I heard that problems occur if you update the firmware to the latest 2.05 version. Since the player is still under warranty, I updated it anyway to see the affects. Movies are now messing up when loading, etc, so I was wondering if there is a way to downgrade my firmware to the original 1.3 firmware that was on it out of the box. This site has the 1.3 firmware listed, but when I click to download, it redirects to samsung's site when only has the 2.05 update available. I've been searching the internet to find the 1.3 version, but I cant find it anywhere. Anyone know where I can get this downgrade? If I can't get it, I think this player will be going back.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks. That is exactly what I'm looking for. However, how come samsung's updates come as an .ISO file, but the download guide says unzip them to a .RUF file? The files will not unzip to that format and the player will not pick up the update on the cd because it is in .ISO format. I don't know what to do?

Samsung's instructions are a bit confusing. When you unzip the compressed .zip file you'll end up with an .iso (cd image) file. You'll use this .iso file to burn an image of the cd to disc. The cd should then contain the neccessary .ruf file used by the samsung player.

Edit: If you're using a USB drive the link for the USB download contains the .ruf file inside the .zip file.

I eventually used image burn because I realized I wasn't burning the image to the disk, but instead just the file. I got it to work, so thanks for the link earlier.

Default Curious about a Philips BDP50XX (5010,5012)

I own two Philips BDP5012 Blu-ray players which seem to be nifty little beasts; I recently upgraded firmware on both to the recent 1.008, but I did it at different times, with different burned firmware discs.

The one I did first is working with no problems.the second one is sometimes rebooting upon disc load at times. prior to the upgrade, they both worked the same and exhibited the same plusses and problems.

It seems the CD burner I used was going bad when I burned the upgraded for the second BDP5012; I burned another, but I cannot flash the firmware because the player sees it as the same version and will not upgrade. I'm betting if I can chage the firmware and re-upgrade, things will be just fine.

Philips doesn't have any older firmware on their website, any chance someone here might for this model (Or can point me to it)?

I did an internet search for you, but I didn't have any luck. However, I'm sure the original firmware is on the web somewhere. Anyways, you are right. If firmware is your player's issue, you will be able to fix it buy downgrading the firmware and then upgrading it again with a non-defective disk. I'll keep trying to find the older firmware for you.

Thanks (I did a fairly exhausting search for it as well to no avail). I wish there was a known way to "force" an upgrade, but according to Philips that wasn't an option.

THanks again!
