I find it pretty sad that American anime companies complain about poor sales due to fansubs when they can't even release anime with a high quality japanese audio track.
I've been looking at a bunch of anime, most of the japanese tracks are Dolby Digital 2.0 or 1.0, while english is Dobly Digital 5.1 or TrueHD. Really? Everyone I know absolutely hates the english tracks. The entire cast they use for english cost about as much as one actor in the japanese tracks. Can anyone see a reason to buy these releases? Why spend more money on a blu-ray when it's mono or stereo for the better audio track? Seems like anyone who wants quality japanese tracks has to import their blu-rays from Japan... |
