Default What if famous filmmakers directed the Super Bowl?

This very well could've been posted already, but I didn't notice it.

Quote:
Television technology now ensures that you can see action on the football field from every possible vantage point, but you’ve never seen the Super Bowl from the fresh auteurist angles proposed in this delightful new short from Slate’s video site, SlateV.com. Written, produced, and edited by Andrew Bouvé, the video muses, “What would it look like if famous filmmakers ‘directed’ the Super Bowl?”

James Cameron:

It would have been in 3D

The quarterbacks would have been Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn

Jenette Goldstein would be the resident commentator

James Horner would be scoring (pun intended)

Some new technology would have to be invented...

When there's a wardrobe malfunction during half-time...no one complains...in fact the game is still rated PG-13 and someone is drawing Janet.

Sigourney will yell "Get away from her you b#$%^&" at some point.

The game will gross well over $600 million (the games actually probably gross way more than this anyways...)

And the winners of the game shoot "I'm king of the world!!!"

What about nuking the whole arena when a team wins the Super Bowl?

OK, if the Super Bowl were to be directed by The Wachowski Brothers, then pretty much it's the team wearing mechs from The Matrix Reloaded, and there is going to be tons of gunfights and slow-mo sequences. Oh, and Agent Smith will be the referee.

Steven Spielberg

First there would be a sugarland express rush with cars to the game.

Once the game started the kicker would call home after the opening kickoff. One of the running back would be chase by a giant boulder. Nazi would be the cheerleaders on the sideline. The halftime show would be with a giant great white shark in a tank at midfield doing trick on the iconic theme of Close Encounter. George Lucas would be in charge of the special effects and John Williams the music. Sean Connery would be the commentator. The score would not matter cause in the end it would be a success but some would still complain that Lucas rape their Super Bowl childhood.

If George A. Romero directed the Super Bowl...

The defense would be real slow, A tall black guy would become a charismatic leader allthough it´s never intended, the audience would pretty much just moan all the time, The teams would quarrel a whole lot, sudden death would be real gory and the winners would fly of in a helicopter... or get shot.

Yeah, it would rock

You forgot one, the opposite team would be composed of Kathryn Bigelow, Linda Hamilton, and Gale Anne Hurd. They want the glory, ALL OF IT!!!

If Michael Bay directed the Super Bowl, my life would be complete!

Ref makes a penalty call, offending player explodes!
Ref makes a bad call, ref explodes!
QB misses a pass, QB Explodes!
TOUCHDOWN! Endzone explodes!
Game ends, fans of the losing team EXPLODE!

We are talking about American football here, it would have to be Australian football to make it violent and crazy enough for Peckinpah

I'm assuming everyone watched the video, but don't know, because nobody made reference to it. It was the main reason I made this post (though the video is limited to Tarantino, Lynch, Anderson, Goddard and Herzog).

I thought the Lynch portion was the best, I just had to make a quick joke about Bay.

I couldn't help laughing at the fact that Herzog's portion was of the Bears.
