Default Have you guys Heard of "Against the Current" Looks to be amazing.

Against the Current

Against the Current is the story of Paul Thompson, (Joseph Fiennes), a man who sets out to swim the entire length of the Hudson River — all 150 miles, from Troy, NY to Manhattan. Joining Paul is his best friend since childhood, Jeff (Justin Kirk) and Liz (Elizabeth Reaser), a teacher with nothing better to do during her summer break. Together, the trio embarks upon an unusual road trip, a three-week adventure down the Hudson.

Adamant that they reach New York City by August 28, Paul keeps everyone on a tight schedule. Rain or shine, he swims, while his friends ride alongside in a boat, stopping each night to camp along the river’s edge. However, the journey soon takes a troubling turn when Paul reveals that there is more to this adventure than Jeff and Liz originally thought. Paul, who is still grieving a tragic loss, feels that after he completes this swim he will truly have nothing left to live for.

Realizing that the only way to help Paul is to continue with the swim, Jeff and Liz agree to stay on. And so with each passing stroke, a gallows humor settles over the three as they find themselves debating the finer points of jelly donuts, sex, and death. As the jokes and one-liners mix with deeper exchanges, the journey down river becomes a battle not only to save a friend, but to also discover what it is they ultimately seek inside themselves.

I think it looks amazing to be honest. (partly due to the awesome music) Could be a heartwarming story and Joseph Fiennes has proved he's just as worthy as the praise his brother gets.

It is slated for a release of March which will be very limited and it'll also be available for demand too.

If anyone can recognize the piece of music used it would be appreciated.

I thought you viewed most of the Sundance movies. It premiered at Sundance last year I believe? I gave up on this movie until I saw the trailer and release date. In reference to your picture, I think she's the con of the movie.

I was so busy last year at work with massive overtime, that I didn't get to check any of the sundance films out. I also was MIA from this website for about a year, lol. I didn't say Trachtenburg could act, she is just appealing to my eyes. Besides more than likely based on that premise she won't be in it much, looks mainly like a trio film. Thanks for the heads up, I'm gonna have to watch this if I can find it anywhere.

Since the release is simultaneously on demand it should be easier to access right? I have no idea how on demand works.

Yeah District 13: Ultimatum was on demand earlier this month, I'm gonna have to look into it. Cause with D13, they showed it one night only on Feb 4th I think, and than 2 days later it was in select theaters, and than in a month or so it'll be on BD, so the whole process rushed along.

Well for me when they do stuff like this, and in the case of D13 and Buck Howard they aired on HD Net Movies. But I have DirecTV so for you if you have On Demand it'll be on one of your channels and you can just view it on the day it is available, but more than likely you'll have a one day window.

I think it looks promising, but who knows. I don't really trust trailers, so it could be terrible or it could be a lot better than the trailer looks. Also, the music might not be in the movie. Trailer companies are just paid to make the movie look as amazing as possible, so don't get your hopes up on the music being there
