Default Universal Boycott and Letter Campaign

will this work? who's to say? but really, i don't care if it doesn't. i, as a consumer, who is being affected by Universal's foolhardiness have decided that i can't just sit and wait for things to be worked out. though i am only one, i have a voice and i want to do what little i can to help push them over the edge. i'd rather try than do nothing at all. i have written them a letter and i implore you to do the same. i am also refusing to purchase all universal products from now on. i don't care how good their future releases are...ain't gonna do it. bourne can wait. until they stop hurting us consumers by fueling a needless war thats confusing the fence sitters and keeping the hd market lethargic, i'm out. will you join me?

**This may sound dumb or foolish to some of you and that's cool...but I personally will be mailing my UNIVERSAL SD's to their corporate office with a letter stating why, along with a BD preview disc. Consider doing the same. The more the better!**

I did the same exact thing already and had posted a similar link in the thread to do with the recent HiHD interview. I am also now boycotting and I really encourage all Blu-Ray supporters who feel as outraged at these recent comments as I and the OP do to join this letter writing campaign, maybe it will make a difference!

I think it would be funny to do what my fellow jericho fans did. but instead of sending peanuts, I say we each pick up a small can of dog food and send it to them. since they're such loyal *****es.

Probably better to send a real paper piece of corrispondence... companies tend to discount email, because it is so easy, while when they get a paper letter, it means that someone took the time and cared enough to let their voice be heard.

Done. No effect perhaps but feels good to do something.

Next up, written correspondence...

Yes. I'm with you. I used to be cool with Uni and just didn't buy their dvd's, but this means war for me. They(he) basically insulted their consumer base by admitting how fragile(dead lol) HDDVD is and that it would die if they went nuetral.

I'll be on the list of paper correspondance. I want them to have a physical record of how pissed off I am at their boss' comments.

Default my letter to universal

Universal,
Please quit boycotting me!

I am a PS3 owner who is starting my HD movie collection. So far Universal is the ONLY studio i cannot find Blu-Ray discs for. It would be unsound for me to purchase another HD player solely for the purpose of playing a couple of your titles.
Boycott is defined as "to choose to abstain from using, or preventing dealings with". It is not my choice to not purchase Universal title because they are not available in BD. It is you who have chosen to boycott me (and 2/3 of HD consumers) via your choice to not support the Blu-Ray format.
If you release on Blu-Ray you will get my money, and given your less-than-stellar titles in theatres recently, you need it!

I have not bought a SD DVD in over 2 years and never will again and I will never buy an HD DVD. So you could say that I have been boycotting Universal for years now and will continue to till they go Blu.

You guys are late... I've been boycotting Universal. I don't even watch NBC or Uni HD. I haven't bought a DVD in some time now, and I don't watch their movies in the theater. The only way they will see a dollar out of my wallet is if they start releasing on BD.

...hell, I've already been boycotting them, and Uni helped me do it - by not releasing any titles! It's not like I'm gonna buy their s%$t on DVD now that I've seen what BR looks/sounds like.......

Not into this type of thing but those on the forum who are, you may want to readdress your letters to the REAL boss.

Quote:
NBC Universal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news and information to a global audience. Formed in May 2004 through the combining of NBC and Vivendi Universal Entertainment, NBC Universal owns and operates a valuable portfolio of news and entertainment networks, a premier motion picture company, significant television production operations, a leading television stations group and world-renowned theme parks. NBC Universal is 80-percent owned by General Electric and 20-percent owned by Vivendi.

I say send as many letters and emails as you can. Heck, send one to your senator! :P J/K
But I think we should all send them something to complain about their "strategy" in handling the HD disc formats. The more people hear about it, the more they will want to confront the problem. If the boss doesn't listen, maybe the boss's boss will.

I haven't bought a Universal title in awhile now. However, I did see Bourne Ultimatum (hangs head in shame). Letter sent. I doubt this will do anything but if it does I will have the sheer pleasure of dilluding myself into thinking that it was all me

In all honesty I will not do this. Now we are just stooping to the HDDUD fanboy level.
