Default Bass traps?

Hi,

I'm trying to improve my room acoustics, but I don't have too much space for big acoustic panels so I was wondering if something like that in the front corners (mounted on the bookshelves) would do the job?
I appreciate your help.

Thanks, Paul

PaulJunior ~ You have A sweet HT .

Bass corner traps are A good thing to have for the Bass .
There are several things you can do to help the room acoustics .

A large throw rug to start , so there is less wood floor showing .
Some acoustic panels on the ceiling & walls as well .

Here is A link for acoustic panels .

Here is some good research material for you .

Paul - as crazy said, you have a really nice setup and looks like a decent amount of space. I don't have anything else to add, as crazy seems to have covered all the bases with his advice, but I wanted to comment on your setup.

Thank you for the answer Crazy Blue and I'm glad to know you like the setup progers13
I'll start off with the corner bass traps and see how it improves the acoustics.

Most bass traps don't really trap much bass. What hz region are you trying to correct for?

I think anything you do in that room will help. As Crazy said, a rug would be a good idea to cover up some of that hard wood floor. It's kind of a bummer because that is a nice looking floor, but it is the compromise you have to make for better sound.

you can still use rugs and keep the room looking 'tasteful'. Take a look at what I did with my setup.

Thanks for the advice guys A rug might be a good idea, just wanted to ask how big does it have to be? Perhaps two smaller ones in front of each speaker? I'm also getting some shades for the windows and might try placing the speakers on spines instead of rubber feet (some say that helps the bass).

Thanks, Paul
