Default Household Bass Traps?

Simply out of curiosity, I was wondering what kind of common household items would make an adequate bass trap? I'd hate to think that there was something in my home I could have used as one, instead of spending add'l $.

high density foam is definitely a great choice as an acoustic treatment. although, i do have to consider buying a Fire Resistant material as well. since we have a number of electronics in the room, plus the rise in temperature due to the equipment, this may be a potential point to look into.

My daughter has those floor puzzle pieces on our basement floor. Seems to me that they could work, as they are definitely foam, about 1/4 -1/2 inches thick, and somewhat dense (you can only push the foam in a little bit). I bet these could work, right?
