SAW I Blu-ray Uncut??? - Blu-ray Forum

I just bought the blu-ray version of SAW I at my local WalMart here in Atlantic Canada. From all the reviews I have read they say that the blu-ray is NOT uncut. I also have the DVD of the 2-disc Uncut version of Saw and the blu-ray and DVD appear to be the same cuts even though the blu-ray doesn't say uncut on the front. I listened to the director's commentary on the DVD and he pointed out scenes where gore was added back in and the scenes are exactly same on the blu-ray. I also read that the end title music in the original was a heavy metal song, but they changed that to the original score music for the Uncut version. The blu-ray has the score music as well. Does anyone know 100% for sure that the blu is Uncut. It sure appears to be. My blu was manufactured in the U.S. and not Canada. Was the movie released on blu in North America as both theatrical and uncut or are all versions uncut???

As far as I know, SAW I on Blu Ray is NOT uncut. The only way to know for sure which version you have is right before the ending, Dr. Gordon tells Adam "I wouldn't lie to you." This line was removed from the Uncut version because the director felt the line was corny. So if Dr. Gordon says it, you have the theatrical a.k.a. cut version.

In my version after Adam says "Don't leave me...Lawrence...Lawrence" then Gordon turns around and says...."Don't worry I'll bring someone back...I promise" then he crawls out the door. Does this mean for sure then that it's Uncut?

The SAW blu-ray was supposed to be the theatrical version of the film but during manufacturing the uncut version of the film was somehow put onto the disc instead of the theatrical cut, so now all the SAW 1 blu-rays are the uncut versions.

Yeah I agree 100%. Everything I have read on the net about the extra scenes, changed music queues and minor deleted dialog that are all part of the Uncut version are exactly the same as my blu-ray. I'm glad they made that mistake.

If Dr. Gordon doesn't say the line "I wouldn't lie to you." before he leaves then yes, you have the Uncut version.
