Default Blu-ray vs. standard dvd players

I understand that blu-ray is the newest format of the digital/HD world. I am new to the blu-ray world and recently had a Samsung BD-P3600 and never had an issue except for netflix instant streaming freezing issues. Sold the player and bought a LG-BD570 Monday and LOVE IT!!! (haven't had an issue yet with playback discs, or streaming of any kind) I was in best buy tonight buying an Ipod touch and came home with a BD590 for my family room. I will move the 570 to the bedroom. Now my thinking is, I have read issues and problems with disc playback, streaming issues, freezing and the list goes on and on with tons of great brand players. To me, no matter what brand.....seems like there's gonna be issues. Could it be that blu-ray has not yet been 100% streamlined to perfection??? Why is it that there are never any issues with standard dvd players and with blu-ray, the problems never ever end???
