Default Movie shelf advise

Today my shelf collapsed so I'm looking for something that is sturdy and could hold about 400 to 500 movies preferably not metal.

I have mine on 2 book shelves I have had for over 20 years . I am sure you could Google & find all kinds of shelves . Or I am sure Furniture stores could possibly have some real nice ones .

I built my own, got 4 1"x8"x10' pine cut them at the store (ended up 2x7.5, 10x2.5), a 1/2"x3" (2.5) for a kick board and 44 L brackets and screws, since I did nnot want a back I also got 4 flat L (corners) and two T (middle). Tinted the wood, screwed the L to the side boards (for each shelf) screwed in the middle top and bottom shelves, then the base and then the flat L and T. then put it in the place and added the other shelves (did not screw them in).

A bit more expensive then the cheap premade stuff, but it is strong, shelves can be moved and there are more shelves then a regular bookcase would have

I'm really considering it as it would be the most sturdy and definitely cheaper

I know my pictures suck...... but here is what I did...... it happened to be PERFECT for my space to just 8' standard lengths..... I got the 'good' quality red-oak so it is pretty heavy etc....and I painted it anyways, but painted the brackets underneath so you can't see them either. I planed the front so it's a "rounded" look... but that's not necessary.

I obviously have room for "expansion"

You can get two of these from Ikea at $100 a pop. They work great and will hold 200 Blu's each.

Since the shelves are adjustable, that would be really cool for collectibles as well, especially with the light fixture on top.

I built mine as well. Much cheaper that way. Pics are in my gallery. Holds up to 1,500(cost was 110.00).
