from what i have seen

troy looks amazing, solid transfer, big improvement over dvd
con air is a good improvement over dvd, great pq, solid pcm track
point break, i havent seen the dvd, but the blu ray is not that great, old movie with low budget, im pretty sure its a upgrade, im not sure if its worth the upgrade tho
prestige, great transfer, better than dvd

I should have made this clearer since the Blu is always better than the DVD. I mean this - which is phenomenally better than the DVD and doesn't look upscaled? In other words, what's worth upgrading?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say all of them look better than the DVD.

Point Break looks great for a movie that is 19 years old. It won't look like a Pixar glossy eye-candy picture, but it is a solid upgrade over the DVD version (I owned both).

lol i was just gonna say this :P

anything released on blu-ray will look better, just not everything will justify spending $20+

sorry, yeah, it was a bad way to post it in the first place. I just want to know what's worth upgrading, considering I have all of these on DVD.

Yeah, Troy has awesome PQ. The opening scene with the dog walking thru the desert is stunning.

I've got a better chance of winning the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes than finding a Blu-ray with less clarity and detail than the DVD counterpart.

The upgrade in PQ from DVD to Blu is obvious but most of the time I upgrade to BLU for the simple reason of lossless audio.

I only have Twister and it is a major upgrade over dvd. I know what you mean about "worth the upgrade" as even though BD's are better than dvd, some still look shi..y enough that it just seems like a waist unless one is really into the movie.
