Finally, after waiting for this since I bought my first DVD player 12 years ago, I'm finally able to watch this in less than a month, for the first time!

Who else is excited about this release.

It says "May 03-07 2010" whatever that means.

In Europe, the month comes after the the day.

I just looked again, and though what I have written above about the month/day placement in Europe is correct, it does not actually clarify the release date. It looks like each site is estimating the release date:

Between:

May 03 - 14, 2010
May 03 – 07, 2010

Though one of them also claims that the release would be in April.

It means that the exact date in May will vary depending on the country in Europe.

play already has it up for preorder with a release date of 10/05/2010 (ie May 10).

Hello all,

Please note that Blu-Ray is not announced for US market yet. Hip-O Records (Universal Music division in US) will release DVD only on June 08. It's very strange that BD will not be released by WB. Also there is not any information about EU BD region.

If you're referring to Amazon, they're infamous for their misinformation regarding specs.

the amazon listings are meaningless as far as region info, but they do not sell locked blu-rays.
so the odds are this will be region free if they end up carrying it.
if they make a mistake--like carrying an import that cannot be played--
they will cancel all pre-orders and close the listing.

THAT impresses me !!! HOW do you come by knowing that ??? Seriously...Amazon doesn't sell locked Blu Rays...that's crucial information for a guy like me DYING to get ALCHEMY on Blu Ray !!!!!

well I've learned a lot about amazon and all these import listings from hanging out at HDD I guess.
also: the guy that used to actually decide on what imports amazon.us would carry made a thread one time at hdd, and we asked a few questions.
it used to be if you saw the moniker "101 distribution" that meant it was an import.
now there is this company "Phantom" that is supplying some imports.
It makes sense that they don't carry locked titles;
it would be a nightmare with just a bunch of returns.

EXACTLY what I was thinking, how screwed would they be to ship a bunch of Region Bs out to angry, frustrated DS fans ? Yet, I canceled my pre-order, because it'd be my luck, they DID screw up...and I won't re-order until my paranoia is satisfied. Just like I'm waiting on my $117.00 to "resurface" from PayPal limbo, where it went Friday after I canceled a payment because I sent it to the wrong e mail address. Christ, I even sent a payment to the correct address immediately after, but is that good enough ? Noooooooo. Now I'm out $234.00, and the seller won't ship until he gets his cash, which is in it's own limbo...
