NBC has cancelled Long running TV series Law & Order

Now this is what I call a Law & Order twist: NBC is declining to comment on a Deadline report claiming the network has opted to not to renew the long-running procedural for what would have been a record-breaking 21st season. If true, it means Dick Wolf will have to settle for simply tying Gunsmoke‘s record as TV’s longest-running drama series. “It’s a fluid situation,” says a source close to the talks. “It’s not a done deal. It’s possible this is just a negotiations tactic.” Developing…

which is good & bad - i really had hopes for that series but after season 1, it just got weird and it could never come back

After Orbach left it just went downhill year, after year, after year I'm still sad it didn't get the record for seasons, but hopefully this new L&O:Vegas or w/e will get a cast that can carry the writing.

This sucks.

The cast had actually grown on me and I had started watching it again regularly. Oh well, SVU is still my favorite.

I was able to make it through Season 2, but I dropped off a few episodes into Season 3. It just couldn't hold my interest. I think they concentrated too much on the "save the world" stuff. I distinctly remember, before the show premiered, one of the producers saying that the show would be ordinary people with extraordinary powers and none of the "save the world" stuff you see elsewhere. That went out the window fast. And it's unfortunate because they really could've created a wonderful show addressing what it might be like for ordinary people to one day find that they're different from everyone else.
