Default PS3 hard disk upgrade question

Hi.

I know the technical procedure of changinging the PS3 hard disk, I did it once before. Now I want to do it again but this time some things are different:
*savegames
*paid content/games
Is it possible to put in a new hard disk drive, let the system format and configure it, put it out again and copy the content of the old disk via PC to the new?

I don't think it's possible to transfer from one disk to another in that way.

I believe you can copy your save data onto an SD card or Memory Stick, then transfer it back onto the new drive once it's formatted. The downloadable content like games, demos, and trailers, can be re-downloaded free of charge from the PlayStation Network once you've paid for it once.

Another option for you may be to purchase a USB External HDD instead of replacing the internal HDD; you can't run games off of it, but you can copy photos, music, and video to it and stream those off of the external drive, saving your internal drive space for the games.

Default Using external hard disks with PlayTV

Do you think thses external drives culd be used with PlayTV when it does come out? I mean now, even with the 80gb drive you'd only be able to record just a few hours of HD quality programing. Adding additional 500gb external drives would make this a very nice setup.

I'm @ work now and can really find the site, BUT......

I saw for sale a Card that you put in place of the HDD installed in the PS3 and then can use any external HDD via USB.

Google that !
