Since Omega Man is probably being released to cash in on I Am Legend hiting the theaters, it would be nice if we could get this one as well (aside from the fact that I'd buy any Price film).

It was an American International Films movie, which I believe are now owned by MGM.

I saw this movie on a crappy resolution, TBH I would like to see this in a good resolution (hey 1080i is good, right?) I'd also like to see Night of the living dead, on Blu-ray do you know what studio would hold rights to it (if it wasn't already public domain)?

Are German releases region free? I'd be interested to import this one.

Germany tlmoe finally!!!

The Last Man On Earth Blu-ray

YES!!! FINALLY!!! Now I can have all 3 on Blu-ray!!

The Last Man on Earth
The Omega Man
I Am Legend

I'm really tempted to get this German Blu-ray!! I have a Region ALL Blu-ray player, so no problem for me!!!

DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THE COLOR VERSION will be included on here as well?

IMO, The color version really SUCKED. MGM had THE BEST B&W transfer of TLMOE.

I'm so EXCITED!!! I CAN'T WAIT!! I will probably buy this German BD!!!!!

I saw screen shots of the German blu-ray and it looks like crap. It looks like an up-convert from DVD with a lot of DNR applied. Hopefully if they are going to release it in the US, it's maybe taking so long because they are hopefully re-scanning and re-mastering everything. I'm fine with the stereo sound as long as it's lossless.

A 3 disc limited edition is coming out in April . Not sure if it's the same German transfer from before . The shout factory edition is superior to that one .

I'll probably pass on this considering it was included in one of the Vincent Price collections.

Yes that is the shout factory bluray which is much better then the German Savoy Film bluray .

I was just wondering if this new bluray from Media Target Distribution would be any good , Looks like some nice bonus features and a music score cd but it costs almost as much as the entire Vincent Price vol 2 .

There's a aussie bluray out there as well but I think someone posted that its probably no better then the V.P. collection .

The new German 3 Disc Ultimate Edition is really great!
It uses the Shout master and the encoding is also good:
http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=4831&d2=10355&c=1972

As a Bonus it has for the first time worldwide the colorized Version in HD as well:
http://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?d1=10353&d2=4831&c=1972

I like that even if the geeks will destory me now here

There is a third Version of the movie: The slightly longer Italian Cut.

It has also more Extras than shout.

For me the most complete Version out there!

It's an extra on that German Mediabook edition. Limited to 1000, B-locked, doesn't come cheap:

The Italian Version is also part of the German 3-Disc Edition
I have no knowledge about a seperate Italian Blu Ray Release.

If you have the German One you will have all versions that counts. Original s/w, good colorized version in same Quality and the Italian Version.

I'm convinced. The German mediabook is the only way to watch L'Ultimo uomo della Terra. An excellent 2K scan of the original Italian theatrical version at 89 minutes and of the American version at 87 minutes. Plus the colorized version. There are language and subtitle options. Where is no English dub in the Italian version, subtitles kick in. If the lip-syncing doesn't match, it's because the filmmakers didn't do it well at the outset. This is the inherent flaw in Italian cinema which just has to be accepted. Plus bonuses including an alternate ending for American TV and two other films, the 1949 short A Christmas Carol starring Price and Night of the Living Dead (1968). Plus the soundtrack on a separate CD. For those who can read German, there is an essay in the mediabook.
