If the Format War was over...? - Blu-ray Forum

I was wondering with all the talk and talk, what would everyone do if the format war was declared over and Blu wins ?

Have someone figure out that the competitors dont care less who wins ? theyre just there to make money and besides theyll keep up with normal DVD (neither them nor others) just to bother Blu Fans if their format (like its happening) dont win at all ?

What would I do?
Keep on watching/ripping/burning BDs on this laptop.
Laptop also plays and upscales DVDs with the best of them... no worries!

HD DVD isn't even on my radar.

If blu-ray won, blu-ray owners would start buying Paramount and Universal titles. Simple as that.

Thats the thing, do you think they care for Blu Fans ? if they would have care they didnt accept the money to go to the other side. But my question is do you think theyll switch over to our side or they just stick with the DVD just to make things impossible for us Blu Fans ?

I would start looking forward to all of the movies that would start to be released and prepair for the sudden growth in the HDM market now that format uncertainty is all but squashed and average HDTV owners feel comfortable to buy into the format. I will also look forward to the sudden increase in deals as now everyone is competeting against each other, and not one group competing against one other group. Software will get a major bump in the deal market. Right now, the format war is doing nothing to help the high cost of the media, and I'm not talking about the manufacturing of it.
