No matter what anyone tells you, do not buy Avivo, Westinghouse, or anything other than an established CE name brand.

Personally I'd save up anotehr $500 and get one of the nice samsung 15000:1 LCDs or the LED DLPs

For $1500? Sorry, can't help. But, double your budget and I could recommend the latest Sony 46" BRAVIA LCD. I saw it in a Sony Store and instantly felt like getting on one knee and proposing to it!!!

i wouldnt do the phillips... evar...

for 1500 if you wanna buy it online im sure for around 1500 - 1700 you can find the sony KDL-40V3000. If you can stash in some more $$$ you could prolly find the w3000 if your looking at a flat panel that is.

For a projection i'd personally suggest u look at a LCOS based PTV such as a sony SXRD or a JVC D-ila

I was reading about the VIZIO screens. what do you think about it? my other option is the SHARP AQUIOUS.

let me know, Its not a problem if i spend around 2000 bucks. since i am paying the money I should pay the money. if you know what i mean.

I love my Westinghouse for the price. I know its not the best but it will have to do until next year after the cash flow is good again.

That is a great price. Just remember that you'll have $300 bulbs in your future

With $1,500 to spend you may want to take a look at the 47" Vizio 1080p set at Costco.

The limitation on this set the black level which is not as good as the major manufacturers.

Here is a review:

http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...07-part-1.html

The review lists the price as $1,599....it's now $1,500.

Also, another great set is the Sony SXRD series if you want to spend a bit more....not as this as an LCD and you have to replace the buld every few years.

i don't know. just $1500 for the whole thing? you could just break in to your local best buy or circuit city and steal it. then use the $1500.00 for your get away!
