Default Where to buy to show best support?

Hi,

I love Blu Ray and think the best way I can support the format is buying movies on Blu Ray,.. so far I'm only at 28 titles but lots of stuff I want is coming out soon.

So,.. my question is.. if you want to support Blu Ray by buying Blu Ray.. where should you shop? I know that Amazon numbers are tracked and graphed and used as a basis for comparing the formats. On the other hand,.. Shoping at Brick and Mortor stores could be good because it brings BR more into the supply chain of these big stores.

So,.. I don't know where I should go when I ready to order all the great upcoming stuff that I want.

Any thoughts?

-Brian

I'd spread it between Amazon and your favorite B&M store not called Wal-mart, personally...

Buy the big sellers at Amazon and the cheaper catalog titles locally...

Just buy wherever you want. Amazon is usually cheaper, but B&M stores are more convenient. The reason not to shop at Wal-mart is that they don't report their sales for Nielson tracking, so if you buy there your support won't "show up" when people check the weekly numbers.

Personally I think you should be targeting Walmart. You win Walmarts support, you win the war.

Its just annoying that they dont contribute to Nielson.

I agree. Wal-mart said they will adopt whichever format is selling the most...so I personally will be targeting Wal-Mart. And not only that, I will be focusing my efforts on buying WB titles as they are single handedly the most important Studio in this war due to their amazing producing power and neutrality...

I buy from Amazon, Buy.com depending on sales and also CC or BB by price-matching to Target or Walmart. I just print the price-match page on-line and BB or CC matches it. So far no problems. I do pay tax locally, but I get the movie right away.

If you order from Amazon you can do it through the MOVIES tab at the top of Blu-Ray.com which gives this site referral credit.

Thanks for the input.

One other thing I thought of is using the Hot deals forum here and keeping up with the sales because that way my blu ray dollers result in more discs which has to be good.

My Walmart carries zero blu ray titles but I did recently order my last 2 from them with ship to store. I'm sure the people at my store are wondering what the discs are as the only one's they ever have stocked were some X-Men 3 copies which they seemed to think were PS3 games.

In the past I've bought from Amazon, Buy, Best Buy and most recently Walmart. With luck,.. I can get some soon at Bj's. I bet getting them from various places is good.

Of course Amazon does often have the best deals and I like seeing BR dominate on the eproductwars site.

Then DeepDiscount always has a 20% off sale the week before my birthday which could result in some sales there this year,.. not to mention Black Friday which hopefully will include Blu Ray movies this time around.

So many titles are coming that I want....

Buy Blu-ray at any store possible. It doesn't matter, just make sure you buy BD.

Shop where ever you like, but shopping at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Wal Mart, and similar stores may show up on more polls likely to be used by HD-DVD fanboys.
