Big hits now or later?

I was wondering who here thinks its better if Blu would release some big hits such as Alien, Snatch, Fight Club, etc etc, earlier in the war, later in the war, spread throughout or after the war is over?

I would say throughout, just when people dont expect it BAM release another big punch, but I'm interested on everyone elses input.

I think they should come around Christmas time that way a parent would buy their kid (or themself) a really popular Blu-Ray movie like having Batman Begins coming out for Christmas or just right after it.

I'm still waiting for V for Vendetta to be on Blu....hopefully really soon, and I'm hoping Batman Begins is on Blu before the second one comes out.

I imagine it will be like that National Treasure for Batman Begins like how National Treasure comes out to Blu like about the same time the 2nd one comes out. So yeah i bet Batman Begins 2 or whatever title they will call it the Blu version will probably come out at about the same time. That way you buy the 1st and then watch the 2nd in theaters in the same time. But it sucks that Hd-Dvd already has the 1st.

I'm hoping they throw in a lil something extra for when it comes out on Blu, but probably not, and by a lil something I mean like mpeg 4

well there probably wont be any new special features in the extras as for the audio thats a different story maybe it might have better audio then again maybe not. As long as it has at least some extras, better picture, and good sound thats all that matters to me of buying it.

i would guess that the alien fanchise and predator franchise will be out near the alien vs predator requiem release.

I believe that big titles lures people to the format so releasing them early would result in more adopters

I think at the moment with what is already on the horizon that they should hold some big titles back, let Hddvd try to lure people with their big hits. They'll burn out quick like a candle lit at both ends.

As long as they start completely taking advantage of the abilities of Blu-ray then people will see that we really can deliver leaps and bounds over HDdvd. Sometimes it just makes me upset when I look at the back of Blu-ray vs the dvd same release and notice nothing more than just the quality. Sure it's what you are looking for like a fast car, but wouldn't it be better with a hot chick at your side?

i think batman begins will be released way earlier. it all depends on the profile 1.1, which include PIP feature. which warner bros, been crying about.

I still think the adoption this Christmas won't be as big as everyone expects. I expect adoption to increase heavily during 2008. My gut feeling is that they should slowly release hits throughout 2008 in anticipation of a high adoption rate next year.

personaly when studios(i think it was dinsey) are relasing 60 more titles by years end and all these new players coming out we will remembeer 2008 as the year hd dvd almost suvived
