300 Blu-ray back on top on Amazon

after hitting the number 2 bestseller in dvd spot on amazon last week due to the kick off of an HD DVD promotion where you buy a Toshiba HD DVD player and you get 8 HD DVDs for free, the HD DVD version of 300 fell to number 23 on the top 100 list. the promotion has been demoted to the 360 add on. the PS3 promotion is still alive and well. (same 8 free BD's deal with the purchase of a PS3). 300 in Blu is back on top of the HD DVD version at number 20. major volatility over the last week with that promotion had hd dvd titles soar into the top 100. blu ray sales on amazon during that same period were lethargic but now things are balancing back out. wonder what the total number of sales has been for each disc as opposed to using amazon's sales rank as a standard by which to judge their popularity? hmm... so yeah...just thought id share

Part of the reason is there were only 55 titles available for HD DVD while Blu-Ray had over 100 to choose from.

Reaso why HDDVD had a couple of good days is bcause of the big HD sale Amazon had where they offered 8 free movie incentives for HDDVD and BluRay players, however the cheap Toshiba HDDVD player went for only $236, but their success was very much short lived...only 3 days
