Default Who besides Toshiba? (HD-DVD players)

Who is going to build HD-DVD players besides Toshiba, and possibly Sanyo?

When is Sanyo's player coming out?

Can HD-DVD really survive with only one or two manufacturers building players? Betamax had more than two didn't they?

There are no other HD DVD players on the horizon at this moment. Just repackaged Toshibas under even worse brand names.

I can't wait for Blu-ray, but I won't be buying HD-DVD. The only disc on HD-DVD so far that interests me is "Apollo 13". Hopefully Universal will get the picture here soon. They do have several movies and TV shows in their library that I'd like to have in HD (on Blu-ray).

I'm confident Universal will join BD at some point. The question is when. We all hope it's sooner rather than later.

I'm willing to bet you in time for the holidays (as in: When the PS3 is out.)

You're just saying that to make me regret getting an HD DVD player aren't you?

I'm willing to bet that you and many others will be selling your HD-DVD players not too long after you've purchased and used your BR players. In fact, I'll guarantee it.

The advent of the PS3 is as safe of a time frame as any.

I'll be happy to do so the very day Universal announces support.
