As usual when the new season is announced, Amazon has discounted prior seasons. The box set of seasons 1-4 is now $64.49, which is its lowest ever.

Individual seasons are currently $27.99, except for Season 3. For some reason, that's still the old price.

I only have the individual sets, because I reviewed them as they were released.

Would Murdoch Mysteries Collection: Seasons 1-4 [Blu-ray] at $64.49 be a good blind buy & is the price good(will it be better say on Black Friday week, should I wait until then)?

What is this series similar too(Sherlock Holmes style, maybe

)? Thanks for any & all info!

The series draws on Sherlock Holmes, and Conan Doyle even shows up as character from time to time. I tried to provide a spoiler-free overview in the Season One review .

As for whether it will be cheaper in the future, your guess is as good as mine. This is the cheapest the set has ever been at Amazon.

Got the set the other day from Deep Discount (paid $56.69). It comes with 4 cases inside a slipbox. The only thing that it doesn't include are the slipcovers found in the individual releases.

Thanks. I likely won't get this right now even though the price is good, but it's good to know anyways.
