Default Akira Kurosawa's Ran

Is there a way I can learn if Akira Kurosawa's Ran is forthcoming on Blu-ray?

I would definitely be purchasing anything Akira Kurosawa made on BD.
Any word on any Kurosawa works on BD?

Criterion currently controls it, and they're not doing any HD format yet

It's on HD DVD in France, but no english subs.

Don't look for it on Blu until after a Japanese release more than likely

Default Akira Kurosawa's Ran

WickyWoo, thanks for the info.

I have the Masterworks version and have heard that the Criterion is a much better production. I am tempted to get it but might hold out for a Blu-ray version.

Even the Masterworks version is stunning. In Blu-ray it would be outstanding!

Guess I can wait a while to see if Criterion makes a move.

I don't know what I think about this http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0814315/ I would love to see the overkill of the original on blu.

Much better to watch if TOHO makes a move

Any Criterion release would probably be a co-finance between Toho, Criterion and maybe a Euro licensor.
