Unfortunately the source that they have linked for their article does not mention HD DVD or Blu-ray, only DVD. I hope this isn't just speculation but it certainly appears that way.

Well I just hope it comes out soon - and comes out on BD sometime because that release has been held back far too long

I'm not sure if this is the movie...I saw a quick commercial and didn't catch what movie it was...

but it was the 1st time I saw a commercial say "coming soon on HD DVD and Blu-Ray"....

it's almost here!

Really?! I'm very interested in knowing what movie was advertised for both formats. That's terrific news!

I'll be looking forward to the 'supplemental material' as well. This movie will be the reason I get a Bluray player.

Massive potential for in depth coverage of the film's development and production to be sure.

Not to mention the various editing decisions too.

I do know that Ridley Scott recorded a commentary track some time ago but the DVD kept being held up.

lol the commercial was just on again...and I missed the movie title again...

this is crappy advertisement because it's over before I can even identify the movie...it's so quick...

i saw a commercial for underworld (i believe) that said this. however, it was a day or two ago and heavy drinking has occured since. so, i can't be certain.

I've seen the Underworld ad, it lists Blu-ray but not HD DVD. Nor would it, since the movie is owned by Sony.

There's a 3 or 4 disc special edition of Blade Runner coming out in 2007 with the theatrical cut (most likely the European cut), what is currently known as the director's cut, and the upcoming Final Cut that Ridley Scott is working on right now. I'd say that one is far more likely to appear on the next-gen formats.
