Talking CBS' "2 Broke Girls" (Season 5)

This was the most hyped CBS pilot of everything shown at upfronts, it was better received then Person of Interest. I know it's hard to tell based on a 3 minute sizzle reel of a sitcom but I'm just curious how many of you out there plan on watching this new show? I might check out the pilot because I have nothing else in the 8:30 time slot and the recently leaked photos of Kat from her cellphone have raised my interest in her.

Mondays at 8:30 on CBS
following How I Met Your Mother
Quote:
2 BROKE GIRLS is a comedy about two young women waitressing at a greasy spoon diner who strike up an unlikely friendship in the hopes of launching a successful business - if only they can raise the cash. Sassy, streetwise Max (Kat Dennings) works two jobs just to get by, one of which is waiting tables during the night shift at the retro-hip Williamsburg Diner. Sophisticated Caroline (Beth Behrs) is an uptown trust fund princess who's having a run of bad luck that forces her to reluctantly give waitressing a shot. At first, Max sees Caroline as yet another in a long line of inept servers she must cover for, but she's surprised to find that Caroline has as much substance as she does style. When Caroline discovers Max's knack for baking amazing cupcakes, she sees a lucrative future for them, but they first need to raise the start-up money. While they save their tips, they'll stay at the restaurant, working with Oleg (Jonathan Kite), an overly flirtatious Russian cook; Earl (Garrett Morris), a 75-year-old kool-kat cashier; and Han Lee (Matthew Moy), the new, eager-to-please owner of the diner. Working together, these two broke girls living in one expensive city might just find the perfect recipe for their big break. Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") and writer-comedian Whitney Cummings ("Chelsea Lately") are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

You are right that it's hard to tell from the sizzle reel. Some jokes I thought were good and some I didn't think were, but I'll wait until it airs to judge it. I'll probably give it a shot since I like Kat Dennings and the premise has potential.

Finally a reason other than the NFL to watch CBS.

I'm kind of surprised by how many guys are planning to watch this, is it all for Kat or does anybody have genuine interest in this show?

I really don't find Kat attractive but I'll still give this show a shot basically because I give all sitcoms a shot and there's not much else on Mondays that I watch. CBS has said this is their highest testing pilot ever, but I'm really not sure how much that means because on Alan Sepinwall and Dan Feinberg's podcast they listed some other shows that had tested great and turned out to be terrible.

Yeah that was what I find interesting too, I would have expected something as great looking as Person of Interest to have tested best, but a sitcom without any real star power and a few flat jokes tested the highest ever? That either says this has serious potential, or CBS has never screen very good pilots, lol.

Thumbs down

I'll pass. I almost always dislike shows with chicks as the main characters. If I do watch them, it's for the male eye candy. Hubba hubba.

I think it will be ok but that damn Paris Hilton joke in the previews is really stupid. I too am in love with Kat Dennings. Loved her in The House Bunny.

I agree with others. This was another pretty good episode. The show is rolling along.

Yeah, that was pretty good too. Related to that, I also liked the meeting when they went over the comment cards.
