Red face 5 hours...of coverage dedicated for a single VIDEO game...

"Microsoft knows that they are in a battle right now for the hearts and minds of gamers. Halo is their weapon," said Kevin Pereira, host of "Attack of the Show!" on the video-game-oriented channel G4. The channel is planning five hours of Halo coverage on the eve of the game's launch Tuesday.

as far as i know no video game in video game history has recieved 5 hours of media coverage dedicated to a single game...

Cool

And an overrated, overhyped one at that. And yes I have a 360 and I'm the minority not buying it. Too many blus coming out!

I never understood the appeal of the Halo series... I personally thought it was an OK shooter... nothing particularly special.

It's simply the first FPS that most people played since Doom, and so they were enamored with it.

Even though there were plenty of games that did the same thing and better

Halo 1 was fun, but 2 was awfull.

the only thing i dont like about halo in the past is the repeated level design, but i guess 3 should sort that out.

Put me down as not in a hurry to buy 3.

I couldn't give a rat's fat ass about Halo 3 . . . I bought into the hype and got Halo 2 . . . think I played it for about 10 hours. Give me Rainbow Six Vegas any day.

Halo 1 was cool at the time, but it got repetative due to repeating levels. Halo 2 really didn't add much and was over within a day or two. Halo 3, whatever, and I love FPS. Halo just isn't that good of one.

Halo 1 online (not intended by MS) through xbox connect was fun. The campaign just like 2 was garbage. I have to say the campaign in 3 looks promising. I just hope the gameplay feels more like 1 than 2 (which was a big step backwards).

I agree there are definitely better FPS's on the PS2 and 360, especially so this gen.

I'd have to disagree with all of you. I love the Halo series. Consider me a nerd if you will haha. I have posters, action figures, slurpee cups, etc...

I loved Halo CE and I kicked some @ss on it, only been beaten once. Halo 2 at first was lightly played because I thought the "auto aim" feature was stupid. People that lacked skill were now able to be good at the game. But eventually, since its XBOX LIVE, I have played it just about everyday since the game has been out, not joking at all. Just last night I played from 10pm to 3am and most times me and my younger brother play it from 5pm to 8am usually. I'm very addicted to the game. And you can bet your sweet @ss that I'm standing in line and awaiting the midnight release of the Legendary release. I think its a very addictive game. I can't stand football at all. Can't watch it, and can't play the video games. I'm sure most of you that hate Halo are the ones that like the sports games.

You have no idea how excited I am for this game. Hopefully we can do online co-op rather than just split screen.

Not trying to hate on the game and I'm sure Halo fans will tar me and feather me up. But does Halo 3 actually have worse pop in than Halo 2 (that a lot of people complained about).

Look after they get out of the cave, when he gets close to the road 3 dead bodies magically appear. Granted a lot of games have pop in but usually at a good distance away so it isn't so noticeable.

No hate for the Halo lovers out there. I just hope that it won't give you the red ring of death. That would be such a bummer.

no i dont play sports games. im play alot of fps games actually.

still tho while you may love it. Its very over hyped. its realistically in all aspects not that great a game. u cannot argue thats its real because its based in a fantasy world. even then its overall design is a little more comic style vs "real" As the game play also shows that.

But again its like going to that japanese restaurant thing in the mall which sells chicken teriyaki. Its all it needs. Its not the best food in the world. but its better than other stuff in the mall and it sells very well.

Just halo is abetter game than just about anything else the 360 will get or the xbox had o its success is based on just that.

Well see thats where you're wrong. Saying that a game is "over hyped" is your personal preference. As well as where you say "not that great of a game". In all honesty I have maybe 12 games and HALO 2 is the ONLY game where I have more than 2 hours on. Its the only game I happen to like and guess what? It is a top selling game so I'm willing to go out on a limb here and say that it really is that good of a game.
Also if you haven't noticed, 90% of the games that are successful are not based on real life. Final Fantasy sold well, I never liked it.

As far as saying Halo is just a better game than anything else the 360 will get, probably. But theres so many more games out there that are doing so much better than PS3. Even if you took Halo out of the picture, (As much as I hate M$) their games are still better than PS3(I'm assuming thats what you're comparing it to).

Anyways, I'm not trying to get into a pissing match here. Just stating some points.

BTW, I eat that Terriakyi chicken w/ fried rice each time I go to the mall, I happen to love it. But, you're right. It is not the best.

IMO the halo series is just like any other PC FPS game you buy on the clearance rack for $10.

its not that HALO is not a good game its a good game no doubt to quite a few gamers, its just that 5 hours of MEDIA coverage for just ONE game.....
lets see if G4 gives 5 hours coverage on any other game...what do you want to bet ummm never... .
