The newest "Official X-Box Magazine" (October Issue) in the Press Release section states:
"Slashed - In price recently by a whopping $20.00 was the Xbox 360 HD- DVD add-on drive. Though it's reportly sold well since its release last holiday, the movie studios have continued to back BLU-Ray in 2007, continually draining enthusiasm from the Toshiba backed HD-DVD camp. Buy hey, look at it this way, now it'll cost you just $180.00 to jump on the bandwagon of the losing high-deg optical format!" This comes from the X-Box community. There is another article following this one here that is titled "Dumped". More good reading for us Blu Fans! |

It be somewhat dumb of them if they created an other add-on. At least they were smart enough not to include the HD-DVD drive in their new Elite or Halo 360 (or dumb, depends how you see it). Didn't some Microsoft exec (a while ago) announce that Microsoft has sided with HD-DVD for reasons; however, they would have no problem adapting to which ever format came out ahead?

Good point, they don't even believe that their format is going to make it. This way they can look back and refer to these annoucements and statements and say that they were "neutral".

Question: Does any of the 360 games use hddvd discs?????? If No to both questions: Then is the add-on hddvd drive for 360 just to watch movies???? If so, besides Halo3, the 360 is useless and cannot even compare to the PS3. + its high repair rate of what 33%. Damn LOL hddud, you guys really suck. All I can say is......BLU-RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good article by the way. ![]() |

I am sure it has been said before on this forum, but the HDDVD addon for the 360 doesn't even play ALL the HD DVDs. Hot Fuzz, Planet Earth are two of the examples wont play in the addon. That is how shotty for a format HD DVD is. Their players wont even play every movie.
