Default Anything wrong with the Sony STR-DG910?

Need it for 7.1 PS3 bd movies. I was looking at the Denon 2808 and the Yamaha 3808. Both were at around $1k. But then I saw Sony STR-DG910 for around $330, and was wondering what would really be missed. hdmi 1.3 bitstream isn't really needed and can't be passed out yet from the PS3. Will the audio quality be that much worse?

Besides the fact that it doesn't decode DTS-HD and/or Dolby TrueHD and is not even capable of passing audio through HDMI, nothing.

I wouldn't waste my money on it. You're better off with a Onkyo 605 for $400.

Yes, it does process audio via HDMI. 7.1 PCM to be exact. (have spoken with many people on the playstation forums with this receiver...the 710 doesnt process hdmi sound, and the 810 is only 5.1 PCM)

There is nothing wrong with the Sony STR-DG910...it will make for a good entry level receiver.

According to the stats I read, it didn't do audio through HDMI. Oh well.
For the money I'd still pick the Onkyo over this.

I have the 810 to a get me one of those Denons. It works just fine except for the fact that its missing TrueHD andDTS-HD.

Well I went ahead and bought a Yamaha 1800. I get it on Monday. Will comment on it afterwards.
