Default Title requesting on Netflix.

I wonder how many requests they need before they actually bring a title in? I wanted to rent Troy, Evil Dead 2, and The Fly on bluray but they don't show them as upcomming in bluray. So I put in a title request but figured it was futile. Maybe if everybody here does it?!

I gave up with certain titles with Netflix. I joined Blockbuster's Rewards program basically because of some titles they carry that Netflix doesn't have.

On Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, you can rent a BD and get another free. At least I can watch some of what Netflix doesn't carry that my local Blockbuster stores do.

I think eventually Netflix will get some of those titles though they don't currently have. Not sure what it is going to take or how long that may be.

The one catch about Netflix is, with so many double, triple and quadruple-dip releases out there, they don't restock a new SE title unless the old one went out of print.

You can try e-mailing them, or you can try your luck with auto-setting your user preference to Blu-ray, renting Fly and Troy and seeing what arrives.
Either way, you'll probably want to wait until after the official release date, as Netflix would categorize the Blu version as an "alternately available" version of an existing catalog title, and not a trumpeted New Release.

My netflix account is autoset for the priority of Blu Ray. I tried putting Troy in my queue recently and it defaulted to the SD DVD. Same for some others.

I ended up buying Troy. I usually like to preview though before I pull the trigger and flat out buy a title! I made an exception in this case.

I'm surprised at some movies and shows that are STILL not offered on BR. Rocky 4 - probably the best rocky movie - still not on BR. Every Bond movie should be available on Netflix BR. I've had 2 bond movies in the top of my queue for over 4 months and still haven't received either. OK I could understand if they didn't have Octopussy or a couple of the other really bad ones.
