Default Slimline PSP sells 250,000 in Japanese first-week

New PSP's 250K Japanese debut

That doesn't include the Crisis Core FFVII-bundled PSP which released the week before and made PSP the #1 selling system that week. So most likely two weeks #1 now.

I might pick one up eventually now that few FF titles are there as well as Castlevania coming...I might wait for the next price drop though. Sometime I could use a PSP to play with when I don't feel like turning on the TV and PS3.

I already have my PSP from before, with the max mhz unlocked and homebrew enabled.

Is there a reason why this one's better?

i love my slim psp. I bought the crisis core one too. The only practical reason to get it is that the dpad and analog stick are a lot nicer and more responsive. It's also pretty damn light and thin. My old psp feels like a brick.

I never had any intentions of purchasing the PSP until the slimline was announced so this will be an X-mas gift to myself.

And faster loadtimes, especially on games designed for the extra flash-cache.

I do not have one, too many games (and a Mac) to buy before a replacement of something I've already got.

Fun question set.

Will an J-import PSP play US released games? I'm pretty sure it will from what I've seen, just figure to ask.

Further, how hard is it to change the language settings to english?

Yes it'll play US games. I actually had a Japanese PSP at the start and don't remember having any difficulty setting the language to English. Didn't need a guide, either the initial setup procedure or the XMB icon graphics made it easy I think.

Ah, did a little more research on it, and the only real problem being UMD video playback beign region coded still.

Not a big deal, but hmm.
