Default U-571 UK edition

Has anyone received this one? It should have been released on monday. The message from sendit.com is "Temporarily out of Stock: Reordered".

Information leaking out is that the UK release was cancelled at the last minute and nobody is getting one from any store.

The best *RUMOURS* are that they were more popular than expected so the distributor withdrew them to add some artcards and a poster then call it a Collector's Edition before adding £15 to the price.

I ordered the (identical looking though I'll have to check for disc differences) French one that got dispatched this morning.

I e-mailed Sony dadc and they assure me that the Australian release in DTS HD MA 5.1

SERIOUSLY ?
If EVER there was a movie that required a DTS-X or Dolby Atmos mix it is this one, NO SALE :-(

Bright Side Home Theatre podcast's UK presenter reports that the audio is fantastic, surprisingly better than the 1080P bluray which was generally considered amazing. He was ecstatic with this new 4k version. Set your receiver to upmix to DTS-X.

As if I don't know about Neural X upmix but you have missed the ENTIRE POINT !!!!

I have the Blu Ray and it sounded alright but not as good as the bass on the old DVD even, so why in Gods name would I spend my good money when they have made no effort at all.

The upscaled vid of the Blu Ray on my Pana 820 is as good as 4K to my old eyeballs so ALL that I am intersted in is audio, plain and simple !
4K on a mainly dim movie is laughable.

I already have The Green Mile and The Exorcist but will upgrade to the new 4K disc because they bothered with DOLBY ATMOS tracks !!!!

I will never ever re-buy U-571 unless they upgrade the audio the morons.

Unless the display is crushing the blacks, the benefits of Ultra HD Blu-ray can greatly benefit a dimly shot picture, as you should be able to see much more shadow detail and those interior lights won't be clipped like the UNI Blu-ray.

Not just the Australian release; no 4K release has got Atmos or DTS-X, but I agree with you, it's a baffling and annoying decision... the same as with Heat (how good would that shootout have sounded in 3D sound?)

I think whoever is in charge is a bit simple minded, or plain old stupid.
It's like buying a vintage car and just giving it a new paint job without touching the engine, as if that would happen !!!
