They carry? That surprises me. The ones I have gone into were, "Slow down...what's Blu-Ray?"

I went to a Barne's and Noble's once and asked if they had any Blu-ray.. the woman had no idea what it was so i tried to explain. She looked it up and saw none. I left with only a book, but found that online they have 300+ Blu-ray titles (at awful prices). Now I realize my mistake... she must have typed in "Blue Ray". Oi! I have to remember the simpletons do not know how it is spelled! *headdesk*

The four Wal-Marts in the nearest major city of town each has more Blu-Ray shelf space as opposed to HD DVD. However, my local "small town" Wal-Mart only sells 2 different HDMs: 300 and TMNT!!! (Both only on Blu-ray, however)

yeah,

I was excited when my Borders finally got Blu Rays and went there with a 30% off coupon just to leave empty handed. Thier prices were not happening.

Anyway,.. My Wallmart now carries a title or 2 from each format so it's a start but a slow start.

My Bj's just got Blu Ray and they are Blu Ray exclusive, YES!

My local Wal-Mart has always had more space for Blu than HD-DUD. However, I have been very displeased with their attitude towards anyone inquiring upon HD-format discs lately. It has happened in the last two weeks. I went by there around 10:30 AM to see if they had any of the new titles (just checking, not buying) and they said that if they had it, it would be out on the shelf. I then stated that I saw "We are Marshall" HD-DUD on the shelf and asked if they knew if they had any of the BD is stock? They stated again that if it wasn't on the shelf, they "probably" didn't have it. I simply asked if they could tell if they had any in stock in the back and maybe someone had missed putting them out. They said that the lady who puts out the HD-format section would have put them out and that she is there five hours everyday. Okay, by this time, they hadn't actually answered if they could check and see if they had it in stock, but I asked the person what time the lady came in that I would like to talk with her. They said that she is in between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM...again, it was 10:30 AM. So, I ask, well is she around for me to be able to talk with her? They again stated that if I didn't see it over on the shelf, they didn't have it. By that time, I was at the point of tearing the guy behind the counter's head off and spitting down his throat. As I walked away, I said in a loud voice, "That's okay, I'll go to Target, I know they have this stuff!" I went on about my business--I had to get a few items--then I went back and low-and-behold, what do you think popped up? We are Marshall, Troy, and a few other titles in BD.

Sorry about the little rant...oh well, at least it got them out.

The wal-mart's around me suck. They had 2 blu-ray's & 2 HD-DVD's when I went there. I thought I was just missing the main section so after walking up and down every Isle in the movies section I asked and they said that was all they carry. Not even the trarget's around here have them.

I stopped by my WM and they had a new island display for Blu-ray and HD-DVD. It had 32" LCD monitors on all 4 sides displaying movies and stuff. One side was doing a PS3 demo when I was there. There were a lot more Blu-ray discs available than HD-DVD, but it looked like it was supposed to promote them evenly.

I guess that my wally world is about avg : 23 BD's , 7 HD-DVDs in titles when I checked last, nothing that I really wanted so I'm going to check out BB :-)

The only titles that I can remember for BD are "Bridge to Terebithia" and the Final Fantasy movie ......LOL not doing that

As much as some depise Wal-mart, they will play a crucial part in this war, and I would recommend buying form there if they carry blu. I am going to get FF 2 there tues.

I have some sources at my Wal*mart and this is what they told me;

Like Billcable was describing, most of the stores should get this "Island" They should be expanding there discs a little bit more in Nov. to Dec.

They plan on selling both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD throughout December (So no exclusive format yet)

There also suppose to run deals on the Blu-ray/HD-DVD Discs and players in Nov-Dec

On another note:
My Wal*mart use to have no blu-ray and HD DVD discs at all.. They've been out of stock for weeks. Within the past week the shelf is now 75% Full. I was actually surprised to see that they had the Planet Earth Series available.

Sources at my McDonald's told me that they are moving out entire french fry stations to bring in huge racks of HiDef movies. It's a whole new campaign called the "Blu-mac". Anyone else seen this in their neighborhood?? That's the story from mine. Dunno
