Default Halloween 2007 Dec. 12th

Ok so over at bloodydisgusting.com they announced we will get Rob Zombies Halloween Dec. 12th on dvd. Anyone heard of a day and date blu-ray realease?

Haters say what you will but I only saw the work print and I loved it, I am a fan of the original Halloween and thoought Rob Z. showed us the birth of Michael Meyers.

I read in an interview the dvd release will add the scenes cut from the theatrical release which added more character development.

Even though the movie was a dud, $56 million isn't too shabby. I'm not sure, but I think the production budget was around $15 million plus the marketing costs which I'm not too sure about but I imagine it wasn't a lot.

So, they did make a profit. They'll be able to milk even more cash out of it on DVD.

$56 million would be considered decent for a horror movie. However, it doesn't beat the original's box office intake of $47 million which was a big number back in the ol' days. If it's adjusted for inflation... big difference.

Superbad isn't a horror movie so its audience appeal is greater.

The movie sucked big time. I prefer the original which is a classic. The remake is hardly an actual remake if you ask me. It didn't feel like Halloween to me at all. They focused too much on Michael Myers. Laurie Strode was supposed to be the main character.

However, the movie was a financial success but it got panned by the critics.

Most Future Shop locations I've been to were awful. I can't really recall any that I was pleased with.

Gibby's in St. Catharines is a much more consumer-friendly place to be at. At least from my experience. At Future Shop and Best Buy, they always have to be "right" even though they are wrong.

Okay first off, this was not a remake as much as a prequel. It was supposed to be more about Michael. This is the lead into your beloved classic Halloween. Rob Zombie stated so many times himself, being that he is a fan of the first film.

That's his defense but to me, it's clearly a crappy horror movie that has nothing to do with Halloween. Rob Zombie is obsessed with the monsters, he has no sense of humanity in him.

The thing that made Michael Myers such a creepy figure was because we didn't know much about him. He just kills. Period. No motive or anything.

He's just a killing machine.

In this movie, they tried to re-imagine it and re-boot the franchise. In fact, it made me think of Texas Chainsaw Massacre more than anything else because of his obsession with the masks.

They should had handed it to someone else or left it alone for good. They already did a lot of damages to the franchise by giving us awful sequels.

I don't think we really need a movie to "understand" Michael Myers.

Having seen everyone's posts about this, has gotten me curious to see this movie now. I'm interested to see what he did with the story. As for it coming to Blu Ray, I wouldn't hold my breath. Weinstein is still Hd Dvd exclusive, until the rumors of them supposedly going nuetral come true.

I have no idea about it's release on Blu-ray but I saw it in the theaters and liked it. It was different than the original but I went in with an open mind and came away with another version of the Halloween story I love so much.

You can put me down for a copy when it makes it's way to Blu-ray.

I wish he would have ended the movie when Michael escapes from the hospital instead of re-telling the old story with a few different twist. I thought the telling of Michael's 20 year hospital stay was great and what drove him to the point where he became that evil monster we have all grown to love.

Id buy it on blu
