Default Superbad vs. Knocked Up

When I heard that Knocked Up was going to be HD-DVD exclusive and Superbad would be Blu-ray exclusive I was happy. I watched Superbad in the theatres and LOVED it. I hadn't watched Knocked Up yet, but I'd heard it was great and Seth Rogan is usually hilarious. So I went to my local Blockbuster video a couple days ago, saw Knocked Up on DVD and decided to get it. I couldn't help but think how crappy the movie was all the way through it! There were some pretty funny parts, but it was mostly just a chick flick with a slight comedy coating... I was VERY VERY unimpressed and felt ripped off afterwards. Anyways, anyone else EXTRA EXTRA happy that we get Superbad over Knocked up?

I'm VERY glad that we get Superbad. I haven't laughed that hard in a theatre since 40 Year Old Virgin. I thought Knocked Up was funny as well - - Superbad is just a lot funnier!

Anything with Michael Cena is hilarious... there isn't much out there with him, but what is is funny.

Agreed - not that impressed with Knocked Up. Although I didn't enjoy 40 yr old virgin either. I preferred Wedding Crashers - go figure. Haven't seen Superbad - may be a blind buy for me

I guess I should have watched the trailer beforehand because that's what Knocked Up was for me, a yawn fest... and even downright miserable at times (the scenes when they are going through 'relationship' problems)

I really enjoyed all three (40YO Virgin, Knocked-Up, and Superbad). Superbad probably made me laugh the most, though.

They were both actually really funny & entertaining movies.
However Superbad will def be preferred by the PS3 core demographic.
So that is good for Blu!

I'm still eagerly awaiting the Superbad pre-order on Amazon. My fiance is telling me to add it to my Christmas list and I am trying to make that movie the exception.

I haven't seen Superbad yet, but I though Kcocked Up was way too overrated. I barely laughed. However I did love the 40 Year Old Virgin.

Any movie that goes HD DVD exclusive may as well not exist to me. I will be buying Superbad. What was the other movie you mentioned? Never heard of it.

Knocked Up was more of a couples movie I thought. It should have been much shorter than it was, after about an hour and 45 mins. into it I started checking my watch periodically until it ended about 40 mins. later. It seemed to be more about relationships than laughs. I thought it was worth seeing in the theater, but it's not the kind of movie that I would purchase or view more than once.
Superbad was really funny.
I saw Superbad in the theater w/ my mom, I know some are snickering at this point, but she recently separated from her husband and going to the movies and out to eat is a good way to keep her from staying home alone feeling sad.
Anyhow, my mother usually hates vulgar movies, but she really liked this one and it is way crude. The point I'm getting at is for her to like a movie with foul language it has to have a good story and be really funny.
This one is a definite must buy.

Default superbad > knocked up

I think superbad will be a funnier movie than knocked up, I had just finished watching it with wife on DVD, and it's exactly what one of the above poster said, a "chick flick" with some comedy wrapped around it. Of course my wife enjoyed it, but I think superbad will but a bigger seller, even on DVD.

Superbad is a lot funnier.

Knocked-up is more grown-up.
