Default Has Sony Ever Mentioned

adding movies and tv shows to the playstation store. I was on my brothers Xbox and they have a pretty good offering, especially in the tv shows. There are tons of things I would buy. Do we have to wait for play tv?

Also why do they not have 4000 Blu-ray trailers up, you would think that would be the best spot to promote.

Yes, somebody said not that long ago that they're working behind the scenes on a paid-video download service.

I'm surprised Sony doesn't have more movie (blu-ray) trailers, not like it's hard to add them.

As far as movies / music / tv shows downloads. It's in the works, but I don't know when exactly.

How much is a downloadable movie on the Xbox? I certainly would not pay 20+$ for a downloaded lower-quality HD movie as oppoised to just buying the disc. Can you pull these movies off the Xbox onto your computer and play them?

You can only keep the movies off of XBLM for a couple of days. Not sure how much they cost because Canada doesn't get the video marketplace until later this year. I took my Elite back anyway, not dealing with the RROD. At least not until next year, once Splinter Cell: Conviction comes out.

It actually is not that bad a deal. You pay 50 for 4000 points or 20 for 1600 points. Then you generally see tv shows for 400 points or less. Movies are crappy in terms of variety, but they are about 600 and up. It depends on if you get it in Hi Def. They have tons of tv shows, I was shocked actually. Movies are deleted after awhile, so they are not really worth it anyway.

Give the beta version of the VOD service at www.ps3movies.tv. You must be on your PS3 for it to work. That should keep you occupied for awhile.

I'll try that later.

I always thought that sooner or later Sony would convert its online music shop to work with PS3 so you can buy music and save it straight to your console.

Offering the same for movie and tv progs is really no different, they just need to supply a media player to view it through, one that will delete stuff after a certain time, etc. Can't see that it is difficult for them at all. I expect they have a road map of offerings like this running through 2008.

From my use of Home Beta I think the movie services will be done within home. They have virtual movie theaters where you would pay for admisssion first and go in and sit down after it downloads; assuming thats what they would use those virtual spaces for.

The prices on the HD versions are pretty high...and you are renting them not buying them from what I understand..

I would also like to know if Sony is going to do a Greatest Hits line at some point.

This will probably implemented with HOME... the whole virtual theater system and marketplace should work seamlessly with STORE

That's an awesome site! If only some of the content was better.

definitely sounds worthwhile as a substitute for renting

Why is it weird? It is a great way to catch up on missed episodes. Alot of shows on Xbox Live are not even on TV. They have a nice amount of anime, which is always something you should test before you invest.

let me get this straight... someone pays upwards of $5 to 'rent' a TV show? no thanks, i'll stick to PVR or torrents for any shows i miss.

even if online movie rentals were competative in price and HD PQ/AQ there's still the issue that i can walk to blockbuster and back faster than an HD movie would download, AND not have my ISP all over my ass...

Movies ON XBLM is stupid, its only like 720p and 5 gig file size and you cant even keep it on there to watch after like 24 hours...TV episodes is a different story, still got Make Love Not Warcraft on mine
