Default VOD and online rentals

Does anyone know how well itunes and amazon are doing with their online rental service? Anyone know the numbers cuz I dont know anyone that would ever rent online. you can go to hulu.com and watch several movies for free but to pay $3-$5 for a 24-hour lease. Thats just retarded!

I have only gotten a new things from Amazon but only because I didn't have to pay for them. TiVo one time had a thing where you got $20 in credit and I used that and have gotten a few things free (like they just had the first 15 episodes in HBO's in Treatment for free and some of the fall pilots earlier in the year).

Quality is not good enough for me to pay for anything from there though.

IMO the hole VOD online viewing ppv is a waste. maybe if the internet becomes Free to everyone and the net uses the free analog airwaves next year after tv goes Digital, I may change my mind about it all.

VOD from Comcast and Verizon are absolutely horrible. I watched a few HD flicks and was glad they were freebies as the quality was a small cut above DVD.
